About Rodriguez Jr

Rodriguez Jr. (Olivier Mateu) is a French electronic artist known for redefining melodic house and techno. With over 20 years of experience, he blends analog warmth, emotive melodies, and hypnotic rhythms into a unique sound. Starting his career under Laurent Garnier on the F-Communications label as part of The Youngsters, Mateu developed a deep philosophy of artistic exploration.

Today, his music appears on labels like Anjunadeep, Armada, Mobilee, and his own Feathers & Bones. He’s also a sought-after remixer for artists like Stephan Bodzin, Monolink, Jan Blomqvist, Röyksopp, and Booka Shade. Drawing inspiration from vintage synths in his Miami studio, Rodriguez Jr. is known for immersive live shows that create emotional connections with audiences worldwide—from Burning Man to Cercle Festival, Fabric London, and Zamna Tulum.

A special part of his journey is the collaboration with vocalist Liset Alea. Their ongoing RJLA project fuses live vocals with electronic soundscapes, most notably in their Cercle performance at the Falaises d’Étretat.

On the production side, Mateu’s output remains strong. His album Feathers & Bones (2023) and the track Destination Lost with Jan Blomqvist have reached major streaming success. He also composed music for the Mercedes Maybach Dolby Atmos campaign and reaches over 650,000 Spotify listeners monthly.
